Appointment Announcement - Wellington Area Commissioner

We would like to take time to thank Doug Lemcke for his commitment to Scouts Canada as the Area Commissioner for Wellington. His hard work and his strong leadership has placed Wellington on a strong footing for attaining the goals for Scouts Canada’s five priorities.

It is with great pleasure that we announce Chris Hewitt as Area Commissioner for Wellington.

Chris grew up scouting in Montreal from Beavers to Venturers and earned his Chief Scout Award and went to CJ in 93 as a youth. When he moved to Southern Ontario and his son joined Beavers, he rejoined as a Scouter taking positions as a Troop Scouter, and Camp Impeesa Chairperson. When he took a new job in Guelph, he immediately began to work with Troop and Pack at 3rd Guelph.

On a personal side, Chris enjoys his "hour a week" with his family of 3 kids and supportive wife Heather. Chris has hobbies including camping, outdoors and computers.

Chris is looking forward to growing the Wellington Area and facilitating the growth on the Canadian Path.

We are excited to welcome Chris to the team in CEC and look forward to him working closely with the volunteers and staff to focus on successfully delivering on our 5 priorities.

Please help me in congratulating Chris in his new Role and we look forward to what the Future hold for Central Escarpment Scouting and Scouts Canada.

It Starts With Scouts
